IMPORTANT NOTE from Legal Team:
Minor Hotels have brought into effect a new policy which prohibits guests under the age of 18 years from booking and staying unaccompanied at any of our properties across the group.
The policy change will impact both front office staff and CRO staff taking phone bookings. See procedure set out below.
The Law
Enforcing Contracts – A contract cannot be enforced against a minor who is under the age of 18 years. If a guest is under 18 years of age, we are not able to enforce the conditions set out in the Guest Registration Card or on the website to recoup costs if, for example, the underage guest incurs any additional charges, the room is damaged or requires extra cleaning.
The policy change has been documented in the Booking Confirmation Email, Guest Registration Card and the ‘Child Policy’ in the Terms & Conditions on the Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites Website - Oaks Hotels & Resorts Terms & Conditions.
Guest Check In
All Guests must be over 18 years of age to book accommodation with us or to check-in to a property. If they are under 18 years of age they must be accompanied by an adult who is 18 years or older.
Oaks Hotels & Resorts are legally entitled to refuse to check them in unless they have an adult to accompany them who can sign the guest registration card on their behalf, accept liability and pay for the booking.
Booking Notification – All guests that book by phone will need to be advised that they must be over 18 years of age to complete the booking and check-in at the property.
Children under 18 years of age can stay at the property when accompanied by an adult over 18 years of age.
Unaccompanied guests under 18 years will be refused.
