The Dolder Grand

In April 2008, the city of Zurich welcomes the return of one of its best-known landmarks. Originally a "Curhaus" - a health spa - the Dolder Grand has undergone a metamorphosis into a trendsetting luxury-class resort: an exclusive address with genuinely cosmopolitan flair. In the process, the hotel's glittering past and vibrant future have been fused together. This is obvious the moment you see the bold lines of the extension and conversion carried out by the well-known architects Foster and Partners. They have restored the facade of the historic Main Building to its original state of 1899 and added two spectacular, sweeping wings: 173 luxurious rooms and suites, a spa covering some 4,000 square metres, first-class cuisine and generously proportioned banqueting and seminar facilities.
