Located in Manhattan's Flatiron District, Freehand New York is housed in the historic former George Washington Hotel, once a residence for numerous writers, musicians, and creatives. Designed by Roman and Williams, this Art Deco hotel revitalizes the artistic community with custom-commissioned artwork by Bard College students and alumni displayed throughout.

The hotel features 400 guestrooms, each designed with comfortable bedding and unique artwork. All units include a private bathroom with a shower, designer toiletries, hair dryers, bathrobes, slippers, and Argan amenities. In-room conveniences comprise water, apples, HD smart TVs, a safe, phone, desk, and centrally controlled air conditioning. Daily housekeeping ensures a comfortable stay.

Freehand New York offers five distinct restaurants and bars. Guests can enjoy seafood at Comodo for lunch, dinner, or brunch, or grab snacks at The Smile, a popular coffee shop/cafe takeout outpost. The hotel’s restaurant and lobby bar are managed by Gabriel Stulman’s Happy Cooking Hospitality, while Gabriel Orta and Elad Zvi of Bar Lab operate the Broken Shaker on the rooftop. To-go breakfasts are available daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM for a fee. Please note that one of the dining venues will be closed during the winter.
